“Illusion-delusion” is the best way to describe this installation involving 31 video cameras with conical lenses. The cameras are concealed within a large circular aluminum frame.
Through 31 video projectors, images are splayed all around the walls of the Durbar Hall. Visitors can see upside down and right side up , miniaturized and magnified, melting together and sliding apart imagery in sensational colors and brilliance . You can see me on the left (with a cap) looking away and on the top right. Actually I am all over in different forms.
Called the “Dream Stop”, the video installation is by an American artist Gary Hill, who is often referred to as a ‘video-artist’ indulging in the world of fantasy, surrealism and invention.
